Hazard Communication (Right To Know)
Description
This program satisfies all required training mandated in the Hazard Communication Standard. The session teaches how to use warning labels and MSDS's properly. The types of chemical hazards are identified and how one can be impacted by a particular chemical hazard. How chemicals might enter the body and long and short term effects on the individual are most important to be aware of.
Methods of Instruction
This is an interactive program that covers the following:
- The importance of identifying and creating a list of potentially hazardous material that an associate might come in contact with.
- Being aware of locations where hazardous material are present.
- Methods and observations that may be used to detect the presence or release of a hazardous chemical.
- Ways to protect the associate using safe work practices, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- The location and availability of the Hazard Communication Program.
- An explanation of the labeling system and use of the MSDS.
