Course Description
The word management means different things to different people. "The Principles of Management" concentrates on management as work - that is, the specific activities managers carry out to get things done through and with other people.

Planning is the first and most important function in the management process. A commonly accepted definition of Planning is outlining a course of action in order to achieve an objective.

Method of Instruction
This unit includes an "Awareness Inventory" assignment that participants will be asked to complete at the beginning of the module. The session will follow the general format listed below:
- Discussion of "Awareness Inventory" materials
- Exercise that relates unit content to the participants own jobs
- Case Studies
