Coaching/Mentoring for Performance

Course Description
This eight-hour workshop introduces the Team Leader to a set of behaviors necessary to solicit the best performance from team members. It aims to transition a Team Leader from the traditional role of telling others what to do to the role of a coach/mentor in which he/she is expected to most effectively close the gap between current performance and expected performance. The participant will understand the requirements of coaches/mentors and they will be able, at the conclusion of the workshop, to help people become stronger, more committed team members. Mentors/coaches roll up their sleeves and make things happen. They share, care, and dare. Mentors/coaches are very special people. Their job is to facilitate change in a person or team. They must be an expert in the skill, knowledge and practices that followers want to gain expertise in, and then they must be able to transcend their own ego needs so they can help others in unselfish ways. This workshop will develop skills in Team Leaders to effectively influence those they coach/mentor with their knowledge, values, wisdom, mastery, compassion and motivation. both the coach/mentor and coachee/mentoree draw much inspiration and information from these roles.
