Course Description
One of the most horrifying articles to read about is where some violent act has occurred in the workplace resulting in severe injury or death. Yes, it happens and every effort must be taken to prevent a violent act from occurring in your place of employment.
This session creates an awareness of:
A safe and healthy workplace is extremely important to everyone.
This session creates an awareness of:
- The nature of workplace violence
- Being able to spot the early warning signs and indications of potential violence
- Knowing how to apply proven techniques to handle verbal abuse, insults, intimidation and escalation
- Understanding that harassment is a form of violence and what is included in this type of behavior
- Recognizing the variations of assault, including threats to do bodily harm
- Knowing what to do, and what not to do, when confronted with a potentially violent event
- Recognizing how fostering a positive workplace environment can reduce aggressive and violent behavior
